Carl Edward Hines, 94, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024.
He was born November 13, 1929, in Sweet Home, Ark., Pulaski County, to the late Guy Lehman and Blanche Haley-Hines, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Dorothy Mae Hegwood Hines; and daughter, Geraldine Hines-Morrison (Richard) of Los Angeles, Calif.
To honor his life and cherish his memory, he leaves to mourn his passing seven daughters: Carla Coleman (John), Juanese Richie (Joe), Yvette Hines (Cornell), Joan Tollett, Carmella and Phonicia Harris, all of Little Rock, Ark., and Dorothy Mitchell of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons: Dwayne Hines, Sr., and Anthony Hines, Sr. (Yolonda) of Little Rock, Ark., and Theodore Smith (LaTonya), Dallas, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The viewing will be held Thursday, August 1, from 12 noon-4 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. Family Hour and Expressions will be August 2 at 10 a.m., with the Funeral Service immediately following at 11 a.m., Saint Mark Baptist Church, 5722 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark., Senior Pastor, Dr. Phillip L. Pointer, Sr., Aaron Johnson, Congregational Care Pastor, officiating.
