Christine Banks Merritt, 74, of Little Rock, Arkansas, entered eternal life on January 29, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1951, in Camden, Arkansas, to the late Willie and Ruth Banks.
Christine was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1971. She later retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
She is survived by her only child and beloved son, Reginald (Keisha) Merritt, and her grandchildren; Rylee and Reginald “RJ” Merritt, Jr., of Bentonville, Arkansas.
She is also survived by her siblings: Earnestine Allen and Jerry (Doris) Banks of Camden, Arkansas; Sharon (Gary) Purifoy of Little Elm, Texas; Ernie, Charles, and Rose Banks of Dallas, Texas; Arthur Banks of Little Rock, Arkansas; Larry (Margie) Banks of Moreno Valley, California; Katherine Hurt of Waldorf, Maryland; Johnny Banks of Chicago, Illinois and Leo (Cicely) Banks of Bellwood, Illinois along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Banks, sister, Jean Holloway and two bro-in- laws, Kenneth Holloway and Robert Allen.
Christine was a devoted Christian who gave her life to the Lord at an early age and found great joy singing in the church choir.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
