Evelyn Tinner Dean – 1929-2021

Evelyn Tinner Dean, 91, of Little Rock, a loving mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother died peacefully surrounded by family on January 1, 2021.  She lived a full and fruitful life.

She will be remembered always in the hearts and minds of her family and friends. Survivors will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.  

Mrs. Dean is survived by her children; Donna Dean of Compton, CA, Addison H. Dean, Jr. (Marcia) of Missouri City, TX, Jacqueline Peterson of   Little Rock; brothers, Stacy C. Tinner, Sr. of Tallahassee, FL, John C. Tinner, Jr. of Ocean Park, WA; Grandchildren, Monique Dyson (Wayman) of Suwanee, GA, Cally Hicks of Charlotte, NC; seven (7) Great-grandchildren, three (3) Great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Hilda Tinner, husband, Addison Dean, Sr., sister, Margaret Amoureux, and grandson, Robert A. Peterson.

A walk-through viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 10-4:30 p.m., at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester Street, Little Rock, AR 72202.   Masks are required and social spacing is observed.

Funeral service will be for family only. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR 72120.

  • Mrs. Evelyn Dean was such an outgoing and fun lady. I am so grateful to have known her. We will always have a good time playing bridge with her. She was always welcome to our Twilight Bridge Club. She really knew how to play she game professionally, with fun.. My condolences to Donna and her family. I pray God’s blessings, comfort, and strength to you all.
