MR HOZIE ERVIN, SR, was born June 1, 1938 to the Late Burl and Etta Ervin of Jacksonville, Ark. Hozie Was called to his heavenly home on Friday, October 1, 2021, while under the care of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
He served his country having enlisted into the United States Army and the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged from both branches. While serving, he completed missions in Korea and Vietnam. After returning home his occupations included being a barber and later a loved and well-known taxi driver in Little Rock.
Hozie was a faithful member of Little Rock Shilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin Bruce. He was an active and faithful servant until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, Hozie was preceded in death by his wife, Sharyn Enrvin; three brothers, Ralph, Vearl and Marvin Ervin; and, one sister, Corrine Ervin.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter and five sons; also, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and along with a host of family and friends.
Family Hour will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3-5 p.m., Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. Graveside services will follow Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1 p.m., Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave, Sherwood, Ark.
