Jennifer Lee Edwards, formerly of Little Rock, Ark., passed away in St. Louis, Mo., on May 26, 2020.The service will be Live Streamed by Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home’s facebook page on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 2 p.m.
Jennifer was born on February 21, 1974, in Russellville, Ark., to Willie James Edwards, Jr. and Ruby Jean Edwards. After completing the elementary and junior high school curriculums, Jennifer attended McClellan Senior High where she was active in many extracurricular organizations and activities, such as the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Girls State, and Governor’s School, just to name a few.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Perry of Russellville, Ark., and grandparents Willie James Edwards Sr. and Annie Mae Edwards of Gold Lake, Ark., an aunt, Carolyn Edwards of Dallas, Texas. She leaves to cherish precious memories to her a devoted father, Willie James Edwards Jr. and loving mother, Ruby Jean Edwards, one great and supportive brother, Willie James Edwards III, of Little Rock, Ark., a sister Denice Wimberly, (Terrell), Conway, Ark., Aunts Eugenia Jackson, Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Geraldine Johnson, (Columbus), Little Rock, Ark., Gladys Mosby, (Roy), Leesville, La., one Uncle, Terry Lee Edwards, (Jewel), of Maumelle, Ark., Godparents William and Willa Webster of Dardanelle, Ark. and a host of other close relatives.
After graduating with honors from McClellan High School in 1992, Jennifer entered the Honors Program at the University of Central Arkansas, in Conway, Ark. She earned a Bachelor of Psychology Degree in 1996, and moved to St. Louis, Mo. to attend Washington University. Jennifer earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, from Washington University and a Masters in Arts, Political Science, from the University of Missouri.
A Memorial Service will be held at Pilgrim Valley Baptist Church, 1821 Wolfe St., Little Rock, Ark. 72202, for a limited capacity Facecoverings and social distancing required.

I just found out about Jennifer’s passing..There are just no words to say at this time. I can pray for comfort for the family, in knowing that you will see her again and never have to say goodbye again. I will watch the live streaming of her service on Saturday. Love to all,

Jennifer was my student in an online art class at Washington University. She made powerful drawings and paintings, and was absolutely lovely to work with. I am incredibly sorry to hear of her passing, and know that you, her family and loved ones, are hurting deeply right now. I’m so sorry.
