Mrs. Mable Moore transitioned peacefully on April 1, 2026 in Little Rock, AR, at the age of 97.
She was born in Little Rock to James “Doc” and Minnie Jones Hall Sr.
She was married to Arthell Moore, Sr., for 62 years, spending 23 of those years as an Army spouse and traveling extensively.
She went back to school at age 50, graduated with a degree in Education, and became a teacher.
Mrs. Moore was actively involved in her church, where playing the piano for the church was one of her passions.
She was also an avid reader and loved to cook and entertain. She retired from teaching in 2004 and became a fulltime caregiver for her ailing husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters (Obie Brown and Ruby Macon), 3 brothers (James, Knoxie, and Jake Hall, 2 sons (Arthell Moore, Jr., and Rev. Mitchell Moore, Sr., and 2 daughters (Gloria Rogers and Anita Norman).
She is survived by 4 daughters, Mavis Woods (James), Sharon Ray (Robert), Minnie Smith (Harold), Sonya Miller (Dr. Tommy). Two sons (Dwight Moore and Roderick Moore (Tawanna), and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Her Celebration of Life will begin with a Family Hour on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. at Harris Temple MBC, 11611 AR-365 Little Rock, AR, 72206.
Homegoing Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist (Higgins), 9700 AR-365, Little Rock, AR, 72206.
Interment will follow at 1;00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1500 W. Maryland Ave, NLR, AR, 72120.
