Richard Stanley Ingram, 79, affectionately known as (Ishmael) to his family and friends transitioned on August 3, 2024 while in care of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital.
Ishmael was a son, brother, uncle and friend to those who knew him. He was a passionate collector and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
Ishmael was born July 27, 1945 to the late Deacon Eben Ingram and Nora Odom Ingram. Ishmael attended Gibbs Elementary School, Dunbar Jr. High School and was a member of the Horace Mann High School’s Class of 1963. He also served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister Beverly Ann Ingram Dunbar and brother James Ronald Ingram. He is survived by Dr. Eben (Judith) Ingram, Jr., Alim (Muneerah) Qassim, Faye Ingram Rone, Justice of the Peace Lillie Ingram McMullen and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital for their kindness and compassion while our beloved Ishmael was under their care.
