Bertha Beatrice Brown-Harris, 94, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on March 8,1925 near Tucker, Arkansas to Claud and Beatrice Brown. She married Elijah Harris in Tucker, Arkansas in May of 1947. She was a long time member of Saint Peters Rock Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She served faithfully at her church in various organizations until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She worked many years as a domestic and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, her brothers: James B. Brown, James C. Brown, Louis C. Brown, Johnny Brown, and her sister, Willie Mae Couch and her son, Edward “Von” Harris. She is survived by her children: Elijah (Helen) Harris of Hot Springs, Lawrence Harris of Little Rock, Patricia Harris of Little Rock, Lonnie (Gladys) Harris of Conway and Carl (Joyce) Harris of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family hour will be Friday, September 6, 2019 from 6 p.m. till 7 p.m. at the Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019, 11 a.m. at Saint Peters Rock Baptist Church. Burial at the Little Rock National Cemetery.
