Deborah Martin, 86, of North Little Rock, transitioned on Friday, August 16, 2019. Deborah was born in Humnoke, AR to the late Rev. Arthur B. Taylor and Hattie B. Taylor. She married James Martin Jr., and to this union, seven children were born. She remained a faithful wife and best friend for 71 years.
Preceding her in death: daughter, Carolyn; two grandsons, James Martin (JJ) and Matthew Mitchell; three brothers, Shelby Taylor, Willie (Bill) Taylor and Charles (C.M.) Taylor; and one sister, Deola Terry. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, James Martin Jr., six children, Nadine (Robert) Johnson, Doris Williams, Duncan (Valerie) Martin, of North Little Rock, James Martin, III of Jacksonville, Beverly (Archie) Mitchell and Carvin (Kim) Martin of Sherwood; sisters, Clementen Bryant of Little Rock, Dorothy Swift of Walls, Miss. and Izola Proctor of Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Celebration hour will be held 6-7 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2019 at Southside Church of Christ, 9300 Geyer Springs. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2019, 11 a.m., at Eighth Street Baptist Church, 901 Scipio Jones Drive, North Little Rock.
