EVANS TYREE DAVIS, 88, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2022. He is preceded in death by: his mother, Rose Velma Davis; father, Mack McKinley, siblings, Maurice (Sonny) Davis, Helen Robinson, and Ira Grassley.
Left to cherish Evans’ memories are his wife of 65 years, Vella Davis; children, Larry Davis (LaDoris) of Garland, Texas, Donald Davis (Veda) of Mesquite, Texas, Eva Davis of Little Rock, Ark., Reginald Davis (Cynthia) of Little Rock, Ark., McKinley Davis (Carolyn) of Little Rock, Ark., Michael Davis (Shonda) of Ft. Worth, Texas., special daughter, Ebonie Platt; grandchildren, Waylon White, Jaron Davis, Brent Davis, Tiffany Cross, Jasmine Davis, Terrance Davis, Brittany McAdoo, Jason Randle, Abrian White; brothers, William Davis, Kevin Underwood; sisters Joyce Smith, Floydean Wiggins (Eugene), Anita Sutton (Thomas), Angela Davis, Vonda Davis, Barbara Jenkins (Marty), Lori Rainey (Rodney), and several great grandchildren.
Evans graduated from Desha High School in McGehee, Ark., and he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas Baptist College. He retired from the VA Hospital in 1998.
Funeral Service: Saturday, August 27, 2022. 11 a.m., Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 3801 Springer Blvd., Little Rock, Ark., 72206. A Viewing will take place one hour prior to the start of the funeral service.
Viewing: Friday, August 26, 2022, 12-5 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 S. Chester St., Little Rock. Masks are required. Interment: Rest in Peace Memorial Gardens. Hensley, Ark.
