EVER LEE GREEN transitioned Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Born June 6, 1928 to the late Solomon and Alice Lee Smith in Bradley, Arkansas, and a lifelong resident of Wrightsville. Ever Lee attended J.C. Cook school, and afterward enrolled in Velvatex School of Cosmetology. She became a Licensed Cosmetologist for over 30 years. Later she built, owned and operated Ever Lee’s Cafe’ 50 years. Ever Lee committed her life to Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church Higgins for more than 80 years.
She was preceded in death by parents, Solomon and Alice Lee Smith; four brothers, Sol Jr., Will, Charles, and David Smith; two sisters, Leoma Staggers and Geneva Smith; and one granddaughter, Martinza McDowell. Survived by five children: Walter McDowell, Myrle Bunting, Jewell (Robert) Floyd, Geneva Lea, and Everlena (Tony) Owens, all of LR; three brothers; Wardell Smith, Alexander, Ark., Preston (Vivian) Smith, NLR, Ark., and Johnny (Merlene) Smith, Wrightsville, Ark.; four sisters, Carol Igbokidi, Monee, Ill., G. Tina Smith, Wrightsville, Ark., Idelua Smith, The Woodlands, Texas, and Rosetta (William) Toles, LR; numerous grands, great-grands, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing, Friday, November 22, 2019, 6-7 p.m. at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester Street, LR.
