Phillip K. Cummings, 41, passed away on May 16, 2023 following a brave battle with Colon Cancer.
Phillip was born on June 11, 1981 in Little Rock, Ark., at Baptist Health.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Robert and Elizabeth Williams of North Little Rock and Joseph I. Cummings, Sr. of Charleston, SC; uncles, James Williams of Kansas, Ralph Kenneth Williams of North Little Rock; Aunt, Debbie K. Pickens of North Little Rock.
Phillip leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Joseph and Barbara Cummings of North Little Rock; brother, Joseph I. Cummings III of Jacksonville, Arkansas; nephew, Joseph I. Cummings, IV of Fort Smith, Arkansas; uncle Robert Jr. (Felicia) Williams; Aunts, Janice Williams, Pamela White both of North Little Rock; Aunts, Doris (Charles) Jenkins of Kansas, Carolyn Williams of Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, Phillip is survived by other family and friends.
Phillip enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and riding his side by side off terrain vehicle with his family and friends. He enjoyed his horses, pets, and the family yorkie poo, Cowboy Cummings.
Phillip lived his life to the fullest each day. Phil was extremely hardworking, devoted, and had a unique sense of humor that made everyone smile.
Phil graduated from Jacksonville High School. He attended Henderson State University and has a degree in Nursing from Baptist Health, a Bachelor of Psychology and a Bachelor of Criminal Justice Degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
He was employed as a RN at Central Ark. Veteran Healthcare System (CAVHS).
Phillip worked in the Suicide Prevention Program (CAVHS) as a Registered/Psychiatric Nurse. He had
worked at St. Vincent/Health, Bridgeway Hospital, Rivendell Hospital, AEDD, Sandalwood Nursing Home, Baptist Springhill and Arkansas Social Security Administration. Phillip found pleasure in serving the community.
A celebration of Phillip’s life will be held at Monday, May 22, 2023, 12 Noon, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 1017 Ray Rd., Jacksonville, Ark.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral (11 a.m.), also at the church.
Burial will be at Arkansas Memorial Garden on Highway 8507 AR-161, North Little Rock.
