Robert Lee Nelson, 90 of Little Rock, Ark., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 4, 2024. He was born on March 1, 1934, in Texarkana, Ark.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, Dorothy L. Nelson; daughters Cheryl (Michael ) Wilburn, Lindia (Vertice) Polite Manning; sons, Michael Nelson and Rick Nelson, Six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Little Rock on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Alpha Phi Alpha Omega service will begin at 10:30, with service immediately following at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Rest in Peace Memorial Gardens, Hensley Ark.

I was extremely shocked to learn of Robert Nelson’s death. He was a dedicated alumnus of Philander Smith College ( University) He was also the President of the Panther Club, the club the honored Hubert( Geese) Ausbie of the Harlem Globetrotters. I worked very closely with him. My condolences to his wife , children and grandchildren.
