May God comfort Shirley’s family. She and het sisters were three classy and talented young women whom my sister and I were in awe of. Their gracious mother was our Sunday School teacher at St. Paul Baptist Church in Hot Springs,AK. The Hill brothers were there contemporaries at our historic Langston High School. Shirley served as an exemplary teacher and her life will be remembered as a testament to a life dedicated to others in accordance with God’s will.
May she walk in Paradise beside the Father.

To the family of Mr. Shirley Flenory Buckner, I give my deepest sympathy! Ms. Flenory, as I knew her, was my third grade teacher at Booker T. Washington School in Jonesboro, AR. Our entire class fell head over heels for her. Not only was she a beautiful sight to behold, she had a genuine concern about our education and well-being. She was the epitome of grace and professionalism as well as a fair disciplinarian. After moving away from Jonesboro in the mid sixties, she and I re-connected in 1999 and have been in communication since! It has been a fabulous reunion between us two and my heart is so heavy now that she’s no longer with us on earth. However, I know she is with the Lord and He has welcomed her with open arms.! So rest in peace beautiful one! You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten! Curtis Tate

To the Family of Shirley :
Shirley was my high school dear friend and was just like a sister to me. There were 5 of us in school who were friends and called ourselves the “Five Royal s who were good students and talented . Shirley and I were in a trio group and performed at church and other events. We stayed in touch all of these years and rejoiced when we saw each other. No one could say my name like Shirley, it was a smile in her voice and a sweetness unmatched by anyone. Oh how I will miss my dear friend but she is now in a better place with Jesus.
