Mrs. Sue Marion Williams Palmer-Walker, beloved educator, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, church servant, and community leader, entered eternal rest on June 12, 2026, at the age of 96.
Sue was born in Little Rock, Ark., the first child of Eldridge Williams and Susie Scales Williams. She was raised alongside her brother, Eldridge Marion Williams. She received her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical and Normal College (AM&N) now (UAPB) in 1951 and received her master’s degree from the U of A at Fayetteville in 1954. While in college she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She embodied the sorority’s principles of scholarship, sisterhood, service, and social action throughout her life. In 2001, she was recognized by the Grand Chapter for 25 years of dedicated membership and service.
She was a woman of faith. She was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Sue faithfully served as a Deaconess, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, choir member, missionary circle, and beautification committee at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. Later, she became a devoted member of Cross Street Christian Church.
Sue was united in marriage to Robert James Palmer, and to this union three sons were born, Robert Langford Palmer, LaVaughn James Palmer, and William Lacee Palmer. After the passing of Mr. Palmer, Sue married Mr. Jefferson Walker and became a loving stepmother to Jefferson Walker Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Cross Street Christian Church, 1223 Cross Street, Little Rock. Interment will follow immediately after funeral service at Haven of Rest.
