SYREETA BALL, 47, born on March 29th, 1976, to Polly and the late Linden “Jack” Ball, loved the Lord and shared with anyone who would listen to God’s Word. On Saturday, January 13, 2024, she slept away in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Thou partings do come, and hearts are broken, loved ones go with words unspoken, the Ball family believes that goodbye is never forever nor is it the end. It just means she will be missed very much until we meet her again.

Syreeta was a strong woman, full of conviction, and she always tried to do what was right. She was extremely smart, well-educated, loved people, and was the quiet before the storm. Syreeta was like the song, “Easy on Sunday morning”. She shared all she had and especially her mean culinary skills and musical talent. Syreeta was known to many as Chef Ball and was a gospel singer who loved to sing in God’s house with her favorite songs; “I Know I’ve Been Changed and There’s a Leak in this Old Building” both by LaShun Pace.

Syreeta was a dynamic speaker within the CrossTalk Toastmasters Club, where she served as a leader, mentor, and advocate for 12 years. In addition to her home club, Syreeta was also loved and respected throughout District 43 where she served as a past area director, club coach, Pathways ambassador, she won many speech competitions, mentored, served on various committees, and supported other clubs whenever called upon. 

Syreeta started at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Little Rock in March of 2006 as a Pharmacy Benefit Analyst II,l and then in her present position, where she was a Quality Assurance analyst. Syreeta graduated in 1998 from the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Ala. with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) emphasizing in Management. Additionally, in 2007, she earned a Master of Business Administration and Human Resource Management (MBA/HRM). She also acquired many certifications. Syreeta is a long term member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

The family requests the wishes of Syreeta and family of no services are respected. Please be in remembrance in your heart of what she meant to you and continue to pray for her family. In lieu of flowers, we have set up a College trust fund for her grandson, Mickel Runyan, at Telcoe Federal Credit Union.

Syreeta is survived by a daughter, Candice De’Ann Ball-Higgins (Nakita); grandson, Makel De’vahn Runyan, of Austin, Texas; mother, Polly Mae Ball, of Louisville, Miss.; brother, Linden J. Ball (Elicia) of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Margertree Holmes of Dallas, TX; Alania Ball-Graces (Uriel) of Fort Mill, S.C.; a special friend, Reverend Freeman Todd of Little Rock, Ark.; her Godmother, Essie Dean Graham of Louisville, Miss.; her special Mars Hill family; some extremely special friends: Minia Christain, Georgiardell Sidney-Williams, Pilar Murphy, The Livingston Crew, Mrs. Linda Todd , Dorris Alexander, Hilton Taylor, her Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield besties, Jean Givens, Desarie Pippen, Malay McNair as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
